Company Offers Abridged Version Of Musical

Members of the Storybook Theater Company will raise the curtain on their production of Guys & Dolls Jr. at 7:30 p.m. today at the Sands Theater Center, 600 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand.
The abridged version of the Broadway classic Guys and Dolls includes the favorite musical numbers and the beloved Damon Runyon characters of the original show. Performed by a cast of area middle- and high-school students, the show is directed by Darlene J. Lentz, with musical direction by Timothy Turner.
Additional performances are at 7:30 p.m. June 14 and at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and June 15 and 16.
General-seating tickets are available for $5 from the box office at 386-736-7456.
`VINTAGE HOUSEWARES'
A new exhibition featuring china, crystal, glassware, silver, table linens and kitchen implements from days gone by has opened at the Halifax Historical Museum, 252 S. Beach St., Daytona Beach.
"Vintage Housewares" will be at the museum throughout July.
The exhibition includes a wide span of objects, from early blue 1880s crystal to pale green Depression glass to pink floral china and silver pieces of the 1920s, '30s and '40s.
Also included are embroidered tablecloths, napkins and place mats, along with copper cookware, stoneware, wooden bowls and spoons, cooking utensils and cookbooks from the turn of the last century.
Featured are examples of antique hotel china, including pieces from the old Ormond Hotel and others.

AUDITIONS IN DELAND
Auditions for the Suzan L. Zeder drama Do Not Go Gentle will begin at 7 p.m. June 24 and 25 at the Sands Theater Center in DeLand.
The cast includes Lillian, an 84-year-old woman; Kelly, her teenage granddaughter; Windsor, Lillian's son, who is an Air Force colonel; Joanna, Lillian's niece; Mrs. Flumac, a professional estate organizer; and Nobody, a neighborhood boy.
Auditions will include readings from the script.

INSIDEOUT PRESENTATION
INsideOUT, an informal presentation of works in progress by master artists in residence at Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, will be at 7:30 p.m. today in the center's Joan James Harris Theater.
The presentation -- by visual artist Dennis Oppenheim, composer Bright Sheng, writer Anne Waldman and their associates -- is the culminating event of the center's 97th residency session.
The free event is open to the public.
