Alpha
Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment.
It runs in churches, bars, coffee shops and homes all around the globe. Typically, Alpha has around ten sessions and includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts. Alpha is for anyone who’s curious. The talks are designed to encourage debate and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, honest and informal environment. . |
The Story So Far...
Alpha began as an introduction to the Christian faith for new Christians attending Holy Trinity Brompton church in central London.
Alpha has since grown significantly across the globe, with now over 27 million people having done Alpha.
Though the location of Alpha may change, these three elements remain consistent: good food, an Alpha talk, and a time of small group discussion where thoughts can be shared openly and honestly. This recipe is a core part of Alpha, making it uniquely effective.
Alpha USA was birthed in the 1990's as a response to the way we saw the Holy Spirit using Alpha as a tool for American churches. Alpha USA exists to serve and support churches in making disciples of Jesus Christ, while we play our part in the re-evangelization of the nations and the transformation of society.
Our national office is located in the Chicago area and we have more than 50 regional and national directors who can assist you with starting and sustaining your Alpha.
