Advice from Casting Director Jamie Sparer Roberts

3/3/2016

Sage advice from a Casting Director!
Jamie Sparer Roberts of Disney Animation Casting ("Frozen", "Tangled, "Wreck-It Ralph", "Zootopia", "Moana") comes on the podcast to talk auditions, actors and the industry.
If you love animated movies (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?) you can thank Jamie Sparer Roberts. The acclaimed Disney Animation Casting Director has been behind some of the biggest features as of late. Is “Let It Go” stuck in your head? Well, it is now. Sorry. She also happens to be one of the kindest, genuine and open casting directors in the game. I’m happy to call her a friend, and after meeting her on today’s podcast, I’m sure you will, too.
Don’t forget: Out of the Blue has a Facebook page! Also, be sure to let David know what you thought of the show at @DavidBlue and @GeekNation. While you’re at it, spread the word about the podcast if you dig it!

New York - Casting Call

Fincannon & Associates is casting a leading role in an upcoming two-week workshop of a play in New York City, with an eye towards a potential Broadway production that would run from January to June 2017.

We are looking for a female actor between 20-30 years old with a mobility disability. Actors with MS, MD, actors who walk with limps for whatever reason, were born with limb difference or without a limb(s) are all considered actors with a mobility disability. We are also considering actors in wheelchairs, whether they are able to get in or out of the chair with or without assistance.

If you are able to send the attached notice to any and all theatre companies, universities, etc. that you work with, we would greatly appreciate your help!

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you,
Morgan

Making your Actor Website

Gabe Friedman was a guest in Jim Helsinger's class yesterday and instructed the class on creating their own websites. I videoed it for those class members who are currently at ACTF. He goes over getting a domain name, Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, what kind of pages to create, and other topics. It is an unlisted youtube, but I thought I might share with the group as well. Here it is for those that may want to view:
