![]() Carrie the Musical
Music by Michael Gore, Lyrics by Dean Pitchford Book by Lawrence D. Cohen, Based on the novel by Stephen King Directed by Derek Critzer & Sylvia Viles Musical Direction by Timothy D. Turner Choreography By Steven Johnson Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she's an outcast who's bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she's at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother. But Carrie's just discovered she's got a special power, and if pushed too far, she's not afraid to use it… Based on Stephen King's bestselling novel, the musical of Carrie hasn't been seen since its legendary 1988 Broadway production. Now, the show's original authors have joined with director Stafford Arima (Altar Boyz) and MCC Theater for a newly reworked and fully re-imagined vision of this gripping tale. Set today, in the small town of Chamberlain, Maine, Carrie features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose). |

![]() Into the Woods, Jr
Book by James Lapine Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Based on classic fairy tales Directed by Lynda Stein & Timothy D. Turner Musical Direction by Shannon McCullough Pawlak The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make. (60 Minute Version for Young Performers) The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as Sondheim and Lapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale in Into The Woods JR., an adaptation of one of Sondheim's most popular works designed especially for young performers. All of your favorite characters—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch—meet and interact in this whimsical original story. The musical centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever. The sophisticated score has been adapted to make it easier - though still challenging -for young performers. Into The Woods JR. is a funny and engaging way to get young people to think about the stories with which they've grown up and the ethical issues raised therein. |

![]() Annie KIDS
Music by Charles Strouse, Lyrics by Martin Charnin Book by Thomas Meehan Based on Little Orphan Annie by permission of The Media Tribune Services, Inc. Directed by Lynda Stein Musical Direction & Choreography by Timothy D. Turner Leapin' Lizards! The irrepressible comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals. (30 Minute Version for Young Performers) Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a world-wide phenomenon and was the winner of seven TONY Awards including Best Musical. It is now adapted for young performers in Annie KIDS. The beloved book and score by TONY Award winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written including "Tomorrow". With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants, and tourists, Annie KIDS is ideal for productions involving different grade levels, or for middle schools where students may be maturing at different rates. The cast size and age range of the parts are flexible and the bright, tuneful score is easy to sing and filled with familiar numbers like "It's the Hard Knock Life" and "Tomorrow." |

It was the theater’s longest-running show. Posted by a patron on Facebook "All is said and done and this production was one of I best I have ever be privileged to attend. Director Timothy D. Turner got it right! For the more than 50 years that I have been attending the arts, this one will be one of the most spine tingling performances ever. For a small local community theater this production proved competent, skillful and exciting. Having seen 4 other productions of J & H I found this one very appealing, not only to difference twists that the director imported, but the vocal tone and articulation was excellent. Bravo, director Turner and his talented cast of 2014 OCFTA (Osceola Arts) Jekyll and Hyde The Musical!" - Melanie Brooks |
