Spring Awakening music by Duncan Sheik book and lyrics by Steven Sater. based on the play by Frank Wedekind Musical Directed by Timothy D. Turner It's Germany, 1891. A world where the grown-ups hold all the cards. The beautiful young Wendla explores the mysteries of her body, and wonders aloud where babies come from, till Mama tells her to shut it, and put on a proper dress. Elsewhere, the brilliant and fearless young Melchior interrupts a mind-numbing Latin drill to defend his buddy Moritz - a boy so traumatized by puberty he can't concentrate on anything. Not that the Headmaster cares. He strikes them both and tells them to turn in their lesson. One afternoon - in a private place in the woods - Melchior and Wendla meet by accident, and soon find within themselves a desire unlike anything they've ever felt. As they fumble their way into one another's arms, Moritz flounders and soon fails out of school. When even his one adult friend, Melchior's mother, ignores his plea for help, he is left so distraught he can't hear the promise of life offered by his outcast friend Ilse. Naturally, the Headmasters waste no time in pinning the "crime" of Moritz's suicide on Melchior and expel him. And soon Mama learns her little Wendla is pregnant. Now the young lovers must struggle against all odds to build a world together for their child. |

![]() Triassic Parq
Book, Music and Lyrics by Bryce Norbitz, Marshall Pailet and Steve Wargo Directed by Sylvia Viles Music Directed by David Foust Vocal Coaching by Timothy D. Turner Chorographed by Crysta Marie and Derek Critzer Produced by Derek Critzer Triassic Parq is a raucous retelling of that famous dinosaur-themed film, this time seen from the dinos' point of view. Chaos is unleashed upon the not-so-prehistoric world when one dinosaur in a clan of females spontaneously turns male. The mutation spawns a chain reaction of identity crises, forcing the dinosaurs to question the very facts of life they've always held as truth. An uproariously funny musical meditation on faith, science, and love. |
Clandestine Arts is a vibrant new theatre company offering Orlando audiences a chance to embrace human emotions in the most raw form.
Clandestine Arts was founded by Derek Critzer upon his arrival to the greater Orlando area in the spring of 2013. Dorothy in Wonderland Book by Brian D. Taylor Music by Bill Francoeur Lyrics by Scott DeTurk Additional lyrics by Bill Francoeur Directed by Timothy D. Turner The worlds of Oz and Wonderland collide in this fantastically fun romp, cleverly and carefully adapted from the works of L. Frank Baum and Lewis Carroll. Dorothy Gale has made her way to the end of the Yellow Brick Road, and the wonderful Wizard of Oz is just about to help her get back home to Kansas. But before she can hop into the wizard’s balloon, another whirlwind appears over the Emerald City, sweeping Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion away to Wonderland. Equipped with their new assets — brains, heart and courage — Dorothy’s friends try to help her find her way home, meeting many other interesting characters along the way, including Alice, the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, March Hare, the Cheshire Cat and many more. It’s truly a mad adventure! And you thought the Wicked Witch of the West was bad? Now they face a dangerous new foe — the Queen of Hearts! Dorothy, Alice and their friends join forces to defeat the queen at croquet, but will that be enough to return Wonderland to normal and get everybody back home? |

Tucked away on the shore of Lake Formosa, the Mennello Museum has undeniable charm. The Sculpture Garden is always open to the public and is most most recognized for the 350-year-plus sprawling live oak tree draped with Spanish moss that is called “The Mayor.” Numerous sculptures can be found in the surrounding Old Florida landscape and walking paths, which merge into the larger Orlando Urban Trail bicycle and pedestrian path. The Sculpture Garden is the site of the Indie-Folkfest at the Mennello Museum coming February 13, 2016 and the Kids Fringe Festival the last two weekends in May.

The Mennello Museum of American Art, established in November 1998, is owned and operated by the City of Orlando. This intimate cultural gem located in Loch Haven Cultural Park, minutes from downtown Orlando, is housed in what was once the private home of Howard Phillips, son of local philanthropist Dr. P. Phillips. Among the Mennello Museum’s many treasures is the permanent collection of paintings by self-taught artist Earl Cunningham (1893-1977), which was generously donated from the collection of Michael A. Mennello and Marilyn Logsdon Mennello. This collection of Cunninghams is the largest in existence, and a rotating selection of paintings remains on display.

"A Winter's Gift" by Michelle R. Davis and David Ward Directed by Timothy D. Turner Come be serenaded by a trio of medieval minstrels with original lyrics sung to the tune of well-known Christmas carols! Troubled times have befallen Canterbury — the king is absent, the queen is greedy and the people are hungry. To make matters worse, Vikings have been spotted. As Abbot Gregory ponders a potentially calamitous Christmas, news of a winter’s gift arrives — monks have found a chest of gold, soon to be delivered to their abbey. Entrusted with the precious gift, two monks make a night journey to Canterbury through the forest, where they meet a troupe of minstrels missing their instruments, a poor and hungry farmer and his family, a gallant knight without land or title, and a mysterious squire rescued from three bungling Vikings. |
