Shane Wages June 11-27, 2004 Wekiva River Players presents the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera, Evita. The show brings to life the dynamic persona of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator, Juan Peron. Beginning with the young, ambitious Eva, the musical follows her methodic rise to sainthood in her homeland. The story tells of the enormous wealth and power she gained and the means by which she became the beloved Evita. Told live thorough a compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences, Evita creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself.
